01 · Inside a tooth

Three layers, three kinds of care.

  1. The whole tooth

    A lower molar has a broad crown for chewing and two roots holding it in the jaw. What you see in the mirror is only the crown — a good part of every tooth sits below the gum line.

  2. Enamel

    The outer shell of the crown and the hardest tissue in the body. It has no living cells, so once it is lost it does not grow back — which is why we look for early wear and decay at every check-up.

  3. Dentin

    The warmer, yellower layer under the enamel, threaded with microscopic tubules. When it is exposed by wear, decay or receding gums, teeth can feel sensitive to cold or sweet things.

  4. Pulp

    The soft centre with nerves and blood vessels, running down a canal in each root. Decay that reaches the pulp is often treated with root canal treatment — your dentist will talk you through the options.

02 · Treatments

What happens, and what it costs.

Starting fees are what the simplest version of each treatment costs at our clinic. Your final fee depends on what the dentist finds, and you get it in writing before we begin.

Scaling & polishing · 30–45 min

Professional cleaning

Removes the hardened deposits (tartar) that brushing cannot, from around and just under the gum line.

What to expect

  1. A quick check of gums and teeth, with charting if needed.
  2. Ultrasonic scaling — a vibrating tip and a water spray loosen the tartar.
  3. Polishing to smooth the surfaces so plaque sticks less.
  4. Brushing and flossing tips for the spots that were missed.

Some sensitivity for a day or two is common. Deeper gum treatment, if needed, is planned and priced separately — consult the dentist.

03 · Two minutes, four corners

Brush along with the smile.

Brush twice a day for about two minutes with a fluoride toothpaste — roughly thirty seconds for each quarter of the mouth. Start the guide and follow the glowing corner.

Ready when you are.

  • Angle the bristles about 45° towards the gum line.
  • Small circles, gentle pressure — scrubbing hard wears enamel.
  • Spit, don’t rinse, so the fluoride stays on the teeth.

04 · Your first visit

Thirty minutes, no surprises.

    Talk

    What brings you in, any medicines or health conditions, and how you feel about dental visits. Tell us if you are nervous — we will go at your pace.

  2. 02

    Check

    Teeth, gums, bite and soft tissues. X-rays only if they are needed to answer a specific question.

  3. 03

    Show

    We show you what we found on the screen, in plain words, and list your options — including waiting and watching.

  4. 04

    Plan

    A written plan with each step’s fee. Nothing is started on the same day unless you are comfortable with it.

05 · Book a visit

Mon–Sat 10 am–1:30 pm and 4:30–8:30 pm · Sunday closed. For severe pain, swelling of the face or an injury to the mouth, please call the clinic or visit an emergency department.
