The whole city goes up to the terrace. Here is how long you have to stock up.

Cut, pasted and balanced.
Our kites come from two family workshops in Khambhat, where kite-making has been the winter trade for generations. Scroll and the spool lets out the line.

Paper and bamboo
Thin tissue paper from Ahmedabad’s paper market, bamboo split by hand: one straight spine and one curved bow.

Bent over a flame
Each bow is warmed and bent to the same curve, so the kite stays steady instead of spinning.

Pasted with rice
Panels are joined with cooked-rice paste, never plastic tape, so a torn kite can be patched on the terrace.

Fly-tested
We fly one kite from every bundle of twenty from our own roof in Raipur. If it pulls to one side, the bundle goes back.

Uttarayan is the best day of the year. Let’s keep it that way for the birds, the bikers and your fingers.
Bird-safe hours
Birds fly early and late. We suggest flying between 9 AM and 5 PM, and calling a bird helpline if you see one tangled.
Cotton only
Our kite string is cotton thread with rice paste and colour. No powdered glass, no nylon. It breaks before it cuts.
Stay off the wires
If a kite catches a power line, let it go. Never pull it down with a stick, a pipe or wet string.
Pick up loose string
Loose thread on roads cuts two-wheeler riders. Collect what falls, and bring it to our shop for free disposal.

Our shop is on the kite lane in Raipur. In January we stay open till midnight.
