Breath leads, body follows
Every class opens with five minutes of breathing. If the breath gets strained, the pose is too much — that’s the only rule we never bend.
Yoga studio · Tapovan, Rishikesh
Small classes on a rooftop above the Ganga — hatha at sunrise, yin at dusk, and breathwork in between. Start right here: one slow breath with the orb.
In for 4 through the nose, hold for 7, out for 8 through the mouth. Four rounds is plenty to begin. Stop if you feel light-headed.
Our approach
We started in 2017 in a single room off Tapovan’s main lane. The rooftop is bigger now; the method hasn’t changed. Four ideas run through every class we teach.

Every class opens with five minutes of breathing. If the breath gets strained, the pose is too much — that’s the only rule we never bend.
02
We hold poses longer and repeat fewer of them. You’ll learn what each one is for, so you can practise at home without us.
03
Blocks, straps and bolsters for everyone, every class. A supported pose you can breathe in beats a forced one you can’t.
04
Classes are capped at twelve so every student gets noticed. Tell us about injuries, pregnancy or health conditions before class and we’ll adapt.
