Hand-embroidered bridal couture · Chowk, Lucknow

Light, stitched by hand.

Bridal skirt sets, flared gowns and trouser sets embroidered white-on-white on muslin and georgette — by forty-two artisans, one thread at a time.

The craft

Our embroidery is shadow and light — thread that only shows when the fabric moves.

Legend credits Empress Nur Jahan with bringing this white-on-white embroidery to the Mughal court. Our name is a nod to the cloth it loves best: fine muslin, which good shadow-work turns into light. Every motif below is worked by needle, never by machine. Scroll, and watch them stitch.

i.Paisley — outlined in fine running stitch, filled with a five-petal flower.
ii.Lattice — a net made by easing threads apart; no fabric is ever cut.
iii.Flower — eight petals in shadow-work, with a centre of tiny raised knots.
