[Vol. 04] The festive loom · 2026
Every saree is a story told one thread at a time.
Handloom silks and cottons bought direct from master weavers in Kanchipuram, Varanasi, Chanderi and Pochampally. Every saree carries a woven tag with the weaver’s name.

Meet Selvi.
Selvi Murugan weaves in Pillaiyarpalayam, Kanchipuram, on a pit loom her grandfather built. She sets the warp herself, a job most weavers hand to their sons. One Kanjeevaram takes her and her nephew about three weeks.
We pay weavers like Selvi in full when they start a saree, not when it sells. Her name is woven into the tag at the end of the drape.
