01 · Sponge

Three tiers, baked at 4 AM.

Our vanilla sponge is whisked by hand with A2 milk and white butter from a Mulshi dairy, then rested overnight so it slices clean. Between every layer: a thin line of house-made jam.

02 · Cream

Piped by hand, not by machine.

Fresh whipped cream, never non-dairy topping. The drips are poured warm and every rosette is piped by one of our three bakers, so no two cakes look exactly alike.

Strawberries from Mahabaleshwar.

In season we drive up for the strawberries ourselves. The rest of the year it is Ratnagiri mango, pineapple or blueberries, plus a few flakes of edible gold leaf for the big days.

Pick the date and a time slot, write a message for the top, and we box it with candles and a knife. It reaches you cold, upright and on time, anywhere in Pune and PCMC.

[04] · Our oven

One deck oven, Lane 6, Koregaon Park.

Crumb & Co began in 2018 as a Sunday sourdough stall outside our flat. Today it is one deck oven, three bakers and a counter that smells of butter from 7 in the morning. We still bake only what we can sell that day, and what is left goes to the Ghorpadi community kitchen at closing.
