From the workshop floor.

Every piece comes in three finishes. Cushioned pieces come in linen, ikat or velvet; tables and benches come in more than one length.

No. 03

Rub the oil in yourself.

This is a board of sanded, raw teak. Pick an oil and rub it in with your cursor or finger, the way we do it by hand, three coats over three days.

No. 04

Five steps, no shortcuts.

Our workshop sits on the Chaliyar river road in Nilambur. Twelve craftsmen, one dust extractor, and a stack of teak that is always older than the orders.

Mortise and tenon: the rail's tongue fits a slot in the leg, locked with a teak peg.
  1. 01

    Seasoned for 18 months

Plantation teak from Kerala, stacked and air-dried under a tin roof until the moisture meter reads 12%. Wet wood cracks; patient wood doesn't.

  2. 02

    Cut and joined

Mortise and tenon joints, cut and test-fitted by hand. No nails, no screws in the frame, nothing to rust in a coastal monsoon.

  3. 03

    Pegged and planed

Every joint is locked with a teak peg, then the piece is hand-planed and sanded through four grits until it feels like stone.

  4. 04

    Oiled three times

Three coats of oil, rubbed in by hand a day apart. No lacquer, so a scratch years from now is sanded and re-oiled, not repainted.

  5. 05

    Numbered and delivered

Each piece is numbered and signed underneath by the craftsman who made it, then delivered and placed in your room by our own team.
